Great pain relief

I had originally planned to use the birthing pool for contractions and then get out for the actual birth. But the pool was just so fantastic for relieving pain and gave a wonderful feeling of weightlessness that I didn't want to get out. At one point, the birth stalled a bit, and I needed the help of gravity, so the midwife asked me to get out – as we had actually agreed from the start. I was a bit annoyed about it, but it really wasn't a big deal. It felt a bit like lying comfortably in bed and then having to get up to go to the bathroom.

10/10 – I would definitely use the birthing pool again! If you're considering it, don't be put off by the thought that you might have to get out of the pool along the way.
